Chris Smith was initially released at the end the end of the 2002-2003 campaign but was such a dedicated and valuable member of the team he was re-signed on a new contract. Although young he has placed himself firmly in contention for first team places and looks as though he has been playing for years. He is a fans favourite at Bootham Crescent and is a really good prospect for the near future and the longer term.
