Derby-born Groves began his career back in 1986 with Burton Albion, before signing for Leicester for £12k in 1990. Since then Paul has played for Lincoln, Blackpool, West Brom, Grimsby and Scunthorpe, totalling up transfers of over £1 million in the process. Groves has played over 600 games of league football and scored more than 100 goals.
After being released by Grimsby in the summer - where he had a spell as player/manager - Brass snapped up the experienced midfielder on a free transfer, with him signing a one-year playing only contract.
