Jon Parkin was omitted from the squad to face Rochdale at the weekend after sustaining a thigh injury in training on Friday. The popular striker-cum-defender, who was only on his way back to fitness after being dogged by an ankle injury in pre-season, now faces a race against time to be fit in time for Saturday's trip to Yeovil.
Meanwhile, it is reported that talks between the club and defender Richard Hope are going well. Hope, 25, has expressed a desire to remain at Bootham Crescent and it is thought that a deal could be concluded in the next couple of days.
