York City's planned move to Huntington Stadium has had yet another problem. Archaeologists flying over monks cross in a light aircraft have seen a possible outline for a Roman Camp.

Investigations have suggested there is a second Roman Camp below the Main Stand. The Minstermen are intending on moving to the stadium for next season after their lease at Bootham Crescent runs out. Though it will first have to upgrade the Stadium to league standards and is set to lodge planning applications with City of York Council by mid-November.

The application will be acompanied by a report about the Roman discovery and it is possible that they will be given the green light to do some excavations before the building work begins.

Ian McAndrew, City's development director said today, "It's just one of those hurdles which will have to be taken into account." Every thing is worked into a very tight schedule and budget and he was hoping the Roman discovery would lead to no delays nor increase in costs.
