YORK CITY GET PROMOTED!
The York City Social Club darts team found out last week that they have been promoted from Div 4 of the York Phoenix Monday League having finished as runners-up for the Summer season. The team led the table for much of the season, only to be pipped to the title by their good friends based at the Acomb Hotel, Acomb 'B' (who themselves have a number of City fans playing for them).
York City's darts team contains several people who frequent this forum, and it is their first promotion since being founded by TooOldToPogo two and a half years ago.
Members of the side will be attending a Finals' night later this evening at Holgate WMC to collect a runners-up trophy and medals. It is hoped that YCSC can build on this success and further the good name of York City in the future.

There should be a lap of honour at Saturday's game. Surely the club DJ could lay his hands on the Bullseye theme to play (it'll be next to the birdy song in his collection).
At the very least, the team deserve a mention by Robert Hovercraft at half time. |

Dissapointing. I thought this thread was going to be about Denis Waterman's superb portrayal of fish out of water, Tony Carpenter.
