Get the coach to stop more than 20 miles from the ground then and turn up at the service station at 3pm. Sorted. |
The level of alcohol consumed before the game will not be lessened by the police doing this, it just means that the local economy in Morecambe loses out on a lot of money as 100+ City fans spend their cash elsewhere.

I'm sure that the landlord of a pub on route will be more than happy to take our money.

So what about a day trippers coach?
Cant you just hide flags etc and get dropped off wherever it is the tourists go?

Sorry it's taken me so long to get on here today to clarify the situation.
The coach can't go straight to Morecambe as we'd planned because the police are enforcing the rule about coach arrival times.
However, we will still be leaving York at 10:00 as planned and will stop somewhere for lunch before proceeding to the coach assembley point at Forton Services.
Not sure where our watering hole will be just yet - still trying to sort that one out. |

They are slap bang next to each other. The train from Lancaster to Morecambe takes 10 mins on the little branch line although Bare Lane is probably more convenient for Christie Park.

If I win the lottery tonight I want to buy all those on the YMM coach rail tickets from Preston to Morecambe - and then send the empty coaches to the police rendezvous point at the service station.
I would love to see the police reaction to a police escort with three empty coaches into Morecambe

Good idea! £6.60 each from Preston to Morecambe represents good value for a prank on that scale if you ask me. Alternatively, couldn't we just slip each driver £20 to drop us off around 1pm in Morecambe (or Lancaster as it really is a short 'hop' on the train) before they drive the coaches back down the M6 to be at Forton services for 3pm, as instructed, then we can line the road next to Christie park to applaud their safe arrival?

Stop off in Skipton Guys!
Easy parking.
Plenty of good pubs, food etc. You will be made more than welcome by the local hostelries!
Watch out for the bl**dy tourists though!
Only 45 miles from Christie Park!

I'm not sure if I want to catch anything else, given the fact that I already have a cold.
Maybe another time, Mr. Peaks.

Sounds like all coaches containing City fans, which is nice.
