I don't give a stuff if Rugby Union is globally the more popular game, coz it's sh*t slow, and largely based on hoofing the ball upfield all day long!!
Rugby League on the other hand, is absolutely ace!
Are you sure you're quite sane, Dee?

If you watch proper RU, it is not all kick and defend. Only England still does it regularly and Scotland when they come up against the Aussies and NZ. Ireland vs. SA was a great game to watch to see how massively the game of RU is getting more attacking every season and has been exciting for years. I am an RU fan, I am not a big RL fan. I respect RL, and I do not knock it and wish it success. Any chance of an RL fan respecting RU? No f***ing way. I never understand why, jealousy? Inferiority complex? What?

Disagree to an extent moleman, International rugby is too structured and negatively based around territory rather than possession.

But, with NZ and Australia winning everything at the moment the other teams are having to move away from kicking. If you kick down the throats of two teams with some of the best backs ever seen in RU you get punished. Kicking is used less and less, and is usually used as an attacking advantage when penalties are awarded and when last ditch defending. Yes, there are still boring teams, mainly England. However, Australia, NZ, France, Ireland, and Argentina all base their play on attack. Wales and Scotland are conforming to this idea. The only teams stuck in the old routine is Italy and England. One side through lack of skills, the other through lack of coaching ambition.
