To this I replied , 'Fair do's , but what about the Busby Babes' ?

"Who?"

You couldnt really sum it up better than that i dont think AB.

The stretford end has "STRETFORD END" all over the seating because otherwise the Cockneys would never find the b*****d place.

And in regards that silly bint in the Exi you were talking about, she's not even worth wasting the breath for the argument on!!! Evil or Very Mad

Last night when watchin the fireworks my missus heard a couple discussing the ground saying it looked better than they expected , however it was probably because it was dark Rolling Eyes

On another note I hope the many that were there to watch the fireworks only and had no interest in City gave generously to the youth team collection .......... somehow I think not .

I suspect he just skimmed through the non-league newspaper. It only has to pass your eyes once to remember league positions.

Subtle, but good.

Which team's the nipper going to support though? Razz Wink

This all sounds very familiar...back home supporting the League of Ireland is seen as a minority past-time, and most people would choose to cheer for a team they may see once or twice a year. I'd go see my local team every week, and gave up trying to justify my reasons to the uninformed a long time ago. If it comes down to watching football in a pub, or actually going to a match, I'll go for the real life experience everytime.

TO some Cobh Ramblers will always be the minnows who have humbled some of the best that the League of Ireland had to offer when still a Munster Senior League side in 1983.
It was from this base that Ramblers took the jump to League of Ireland status in 1985 and since then they have tasted life in the Premier Division on three occasions.

However we currently they reside in the First Division but, if chairman Barry Walsh and the club are to have their way, we will be a Premier Division side again - but until then we live in hope.

Alas for a number of years now I have taken the same path with this club here in York since I moved over here and yes .........I still live in hope.

You could say that but he was only with us a short while and left in about 1990 at 18 y-o
Roy impressed Brian Clough and his staff suitably in some youth game played in Dublin and in the end a deal worth £47,000 was struck between the two clubs.

Much has been made of Ramblers failure to negotiate a follow-on clause when Roy left Forest for Manchester United in 1993 for £3.75 million but it has been pointed out that no-one in Ireland ever thought that they had a million pound player before. Embarassed
