Don't remember many OAP's in the Pop Stand back in 73, they were probably scared off by the Skinheads, Suedeheads and Boot Boys of both sides who congregated there long before there was such a thing as segregation at football matches.

Mine was York v Macclesfield 2003/2004 04/04/04 if I remember correctly.
I think that still lives in the memory of most of you so the rest as they say...is history

The first ten or so City games I was able to get to, over about 3 or so years, we lost every signle one. Every cup game I've been too we've lost also.

First City game would be against Sunderland in the Milk Cup 86 or 87. I would only be 3 or 4 but my Dad seems to remember the game going to Extra Time and my Mum wasn't happy but at least they didn't have Mobiles back then !
My Dad for some reason supported Sunderland and watched York when we moved to the area. So the following season 87-88 when we (City) had a disaster of a season he took me to the League Game expecting a hammering for City. Instead the tables were turned and Bottom beat Top. It was a thriller as well and since then I supported York.

Was that the when the league cup was still over two legs? I seem to remember beating them 4-2 at Roker Park & being 3-0 down in the return leg, then Big Keith scoring with virtually the last touch of the game to take us to extra time. Extra time remained goal less & we went through on away-goals.................. Oh Happy Days!!!!!

I think it was 2-0 in the 2nd leg after 90 mins, then Sunderland went 3-0 up with a corker (Swindlehurst?), before Keith's 120th minute leveller. 5-5, and City won on away goals.
Beat Chelsea at home 1-0 (TC) in the next round, but lost the 2nd leg 3-0, which was featured on Midweek Sports Special on ITV for highlights. Chelsea team had Dixon, Nevin, Speedie etc.

Remember these well.... it bucketed it down for extra time v Sunderland but Keith scored with a deft backheader right on 120 minutes, whilst TC scored a great solo goal after a run down the left wing to beat Chelsea.
