The BMI is actually a very poor way of measuring health, body fat can be measured far more effectively as BMI fails to take into account other factors such as muscle mass. Consequently numerous athletes would be considered obese.

Is this because your BMI is large (i.e. you're fat) and making you die younger? Wink

Actually my BMI classes me as being morbidly obese. A guy visited my gym to give free "assessments" using BMI in a bid to punt some weight loss plan. It's a complete load of rubbish and is scaremongering for a lot of people. I exercise every day one way or another (weight training/swimming/occasional 5-a-side) After this guy tried to claim I was obese I went on to totally discredit the BMI infront of him and put off all the other people waiting to be "measured" which to his annoyance. I weigh about 90kgs and can lift 120kgs and try to keep myself fit, I thought it was a bit below the belt.

Needless to say, I had the last laugh.....
