Yorkshire have made a couple of promising additions to the Squad for next season already with Younis Khan and now Chris Adams confirmed for 2007. I was sad to see Lumb leave for Hampshire as it showed a lack of ambition but these moves undoubtedly leave the County stronger. If McGrath can sign a new contract they should be well placed to kick on next season as long as the bowling attack can be sharpened. Jason Gillespie never really bowled at his best.

Which is a good thing. Younis Khan is the Overseas player and I thought Counties were limited to one for next season?

I think it's 2008 it drops to one overseas player, it's still 2 next year.

McGrath actually has 2 years left on his current deal, but it's whether or not they can stop him trying to leave.

But yeah, good signings in Adams and Younis, especially as Adams will bring a lot of nous to the captaincy.

Adams is a good signing, and I'm gutted about Lumb going.

Not sure about Younis though, he will probably be out on international duty so may tot be unavailable. Anybody any idea about whether the Kolpak rule is changing?

Still don't think we should have released Phil Jaques to resign Lehmann.

Always difficult to follow these things, but I'm pretty sure Lehmann was already contracted, but unavailable, so Jaques played instead. Then Jaques had to leave, because we still had Lehmann contracted.

And it's definitely still two overseas players next year, apparently Yorkshire are in talks and could announce a signing next week.
