A sort of companion thread to the "beer" thread. Name your favourite pubs.

Birch Hall Inn at Beck Hole.

The Wheatsheaf at Burn.

Blue Bell, Fossgate.

Have had some happy times in Dobsons but it wouldn't be top of my list by any means

A mate of mine got a job at The Beehive while he was at Uni, apparently there was a regular there with some kind of abnormality who performed a trick involving his sexual organs and a pint glass. Why you'd ever go in there is beyond me, especially with 'Ram Jams' across the road Wink

Dobsons purely for the novelty value. Funny when outsiders turn up there and can't believe that it's legal to sell drinks that cheap Laughing

The Beehive, largely because it's a "proper" pub and we filled it the day of the Turkey game at Sunderland Laughing

The Trent House is on my list of bars to check out, alledgedly the best jukebox in Newcastle.

Yes! Cool Also try Tap and Tumbler up the road from there - best rock pub in the area + late license. Pit and Pendulum is good also - gothicky theme pub with good food and music. Beer OK, best pub for beer is the Lincolnshire Poacher on Mansfield Road.

As for York pubs I used to frequent the Maltings (over 6 years ago), and my local was The Sun in Acomb (very good guest ales)
