There's been a couple of enquiries about the possibility of putting on a coach to Hereford on December 10th.
Time is short, so we need to know this week if there's enough interest.
As usual the cost will depend on numbers travelling.
If 20 travel, it will be £26 (non-members £30)
If 25 travel, it will be £21 (non-members £26)
If 30 travel, it will be £17 (non-members £22)
If 35 travel, it will be £15 (non-members £20)
If you want to go, add a message to this thread, or email
Frank

I would like to go to Hereford on the coach Frank.
The train journey is an expensive nightmare as I haven't got advanced purchase tickets, and so I think for me the coach is the only practical way of getting there without breaking the bank and spending time hanging around weird train stations like Manchester Oxford Road!

Forest Green's a similar distance yet only cost £20. How come? I don't recall there being that many on the coach that game.

We lost money on Forest Green due to people booking and not turning up.
Since then, we've changed the way we price our trips to make it clear that the more people who turn up, the cheaper the trip will be. That was why we were able to give a couple of quid back to everyone who travelled to Morecambe.
It also means we can run a trip with as few as 20 people if those 20 are happy to pay a higher price.

..Which is a much better way of doing it.
No trip should run at a loss, end of story.
However, most people would be prepared to pay a bit extra because it's still less than the train fare, and the money is given back to you when more people book.
Something to do with supply and demand, Frank could probably explain.
Hereford, for example, is 50 odd quid on the train for someone like me who isn't a student and who usually can't plan their free time a month in advance - even if the YMM charged £40 it would still be cheaper and more convenient for people like me.

Sorry to everyone who's expressed an interest, but it's pretty clear we're not going to be able to run this. |
