BETWEEN THE STICKS
Porter - 6 - Not much to do and looked shaky, held onto the vital crosses though.
DEFENCE
Peat - 6 - Not brilliant, lost control in decent areas wasting a few chances, but looks decent defensively.
McGurk - 8 - Makes defending look so easy, won everything in the air, great block in the first half, looks brilliant.
Hotte - 7 - Nothing special like McGurk but didn't put a foot wrong, we have a very solid back two.
Price - 6 - Looked very shaky first half and presented them with a very good chance which they squandered, wasn't really in the game but defened well against the 6ft 6 attacker.
MIDFIELD
Dunning - 8 - Great performance on and off the ball, passed forwards and ralrely missed his man, chased around the pitch and got stuck in, often won the tackles too.
Panther - 7 - Not afraid to get stuck in, spread the play well, good passer of the ball.
Convery - 7 - Runs around and very confident on the ball, not afraid to try things, very good over long distance passing.
UP FRONT
Bishop - 6 - Not his best of days, not at home on the right hand side, improved and set up more chances when he moved into the centre
O' Neill - 6 - Anonymous most of the first half, improved slightly when out on the right hand side, would rather see Mansaram.
Donalsdon - 8 - Great performance capped off with a great ball, first touch vastly improved after it and looked up and picked his passes brilliantly. His pace made the goal, great finish too.
FROM THE BENCH
Yalcin - 6- Didn't really think he did much although didin't have much time to impress.
Mansaram - 7 - Did well when he came on, got into good positions, really should have scored thoguh to save the last nervous moments!

I again thought the first half wasn't particuarly exciting, with Cambridge been possibly the better side. They were also helped along by the ref, must must have had a liking for them. Most decisions seemed to go to the opposition.
2nd half was much better, we took control of the game, had 1 or 2 good chances before Donaldson scored, good goal it was as well. From then on it was mostly us all the way and I certainly thought Mansaram would have scored right at the end.
Good win, good result. Roll on the next game.

I had some doubts about Hotte, although he is pretty solid at the back, against Cambridge his clearances usually went to a cambridge player. This happened more often than not when there was no pressure on him.
He is a good tackler of the ball, and works well with McGurk.

I thought Peat played better than a 6 really, but then again we won, so i'm not bothered! |

Defensively I totally agree but he ended up running the ball out when attacking which brought him down, anyway as you said - Who cares we won!

He shouldn't be attacking the much anyway if he's playing at left back, his main priority is to defend, not attack.

He's implemented though as an attacking left back to go on the overlap and get crosses in, don't get that much in Italy as I doubt they often come over the half way line so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
