The Junior Minstermen are happy to announce that City fans will have the chance to compete against each other on the popular football sim.
The competition will consist of a group stage and then knockout games, similar to the Champions League style set up so people would be guaranteed to play at least 3 games of 10 minutes. Entry into the Competition is set at £5 with all money going to the Supporters Trust, cash prizes for the winner and the runners-up.
The Competition will be hosted in York City’s Social Club on Tuesday 9th of August starting at 6pm running until 9pm (aprox). Interested?? Phone Dave on 07851611893, PM me or email for more details and/or to book your place.

To add to that, to make this tournament work, we need people to supply the following equipment for use in the tournament:
2 x PS2 Consoles(with controllers)
3 x Copies of Pro Evolution Soccer 4(PS2)
3 x TV Monitors
If anyone is willing to supply these for the night, if you could please post below or PM me, I would be very grateful.
Thanks, Tommi. |

Unfortunately we have had to delay the competition due to a double booking in the Social Club on August the 9th. We are currently looking for a suitable date, as soon as we have come to a decision in regards to a new date we will post on here.
Thank you and apologies.

Leave the rolled eyes out of it.
You try arranging something like this and you will see how hard it is.
The socail had been double booked or something at the time and is booked up most of the time from now so possibly next year now.

Suppose that will be in time for pro evo 5 competition.
Surely the social club isn't in use every night ?
How about a Sunday

Well 1 - We have to get a suitable night for a decent turnout.
The social is in use for a lot of other events and teams so getting it booked on short noticwe is impossible. We need a holiday time reall for the kids and they will be more or less booked up.

I'm sure the bar managers wouldn't want their whole weekends full up with City events/matches.

Depending on when in September the event is - I'll be up for it.
Might be able to get a copy of Pro Evo 4, a PS2 and a couple of controllers if I'm lucky |

Go on then...find some, and pay them too....
The bar managers own it therfore are needed to open it up, we don't have to pay them, therefore take all profits. We would make a loss if we needed to employ anybody.

Yeah. Perhaps, Lord Winston, if you present your ideas in a less arrogant, "I-know-best" attitude, you wouldn't recieve half as much criticism as you do. Until then, I believe that Mr. Hockey Player was quite right to give you a volley.

He was correct to outline to LW that what he was suggesting wouldn't be possible but he is out of order with the second paragraph. Rob fair enough put your point across but don't abuse him for the sake of it.
FAO LW: You proposal to employ people for the Pro Evo event is a bit daft, we were relying on the kind volunteer work of those who spend THEIR OWN PERSONAL TIME to do York City a favour. I think it would be wrong of us to ask them to give up a Sunday to us rather than spending it with family and friends. Without those people small scale events like this are not viable to run because they don't yield a large total of money.
You're 18 now Thomas, if you wish the event to run so much why don't you offer your services to work behind the bar??

I have alot of time for you David, you speak the truth and thank you for putting out an honest opinion. I would volunteer behind the bar, but i don't know the names of alcoholic drinks.
There isn't just the social club you know, theres many church halls available, but mind you money isn't going to the right place
Forum footy was an excellent money making idea but seems to have dragged on and people got bored.
The best way the club can make money is to do something at half time, maybe York Angels again, but not the actual angels as they were cr*p at singing, something like the Hammerettes would draw crowds in.
Or not forgetting the re-introduction of the crossbar challenge

They aren't that hard to learn and there is not a massive selection at the SC, just the usual staple drinks. You won't be alone, if you get stuck ask someone. I reckon you are making excuses though.

Yes there are other venues at a cost, a cost we probably couldn't match let alone make a profit off.

No people didn't get bored, Oaklands’ Astroturf is being relayed and I suspect FF will be just as popular when it re-starts.

Would i get paid then to work behind bar at the SC.
I don't think ASDA would take to kindly to moonlighting.

If you want to help out York and are willing to give up your time to help the club - why would anyone be upset?
We are all working to the same goal
