This site currently doesn't have any adverts by companies, internet based firms on it.

How about creating a 'links/adverts' page with companies web addresses or adverts on it?

I know that firms pay websites certain fees just for having an advert placed on a site, and then certain websites that sell cd's,dvd's games etc also pay a percentage of money they make from a sale, if a buyer went directly from an advert from that page and made a purchase.

e.g. if you clicked on the advert to a music website from the redandblue website, and spent £20, they pay the website holders 1% of their sale, so in this case redandblue would get 20p.

It sounds small but the amount of people who use this site at the moment could soon make this a considerable income generator.

Would it be worth looking into creating an adverts page on this site with the money made (or a percentage) of the money made being directly sent to the club/supporters trust?

Seeing as we don't have a current 'official' website the club are losing this possible income, but we could generate it.

I think it has the possibility to make a fair bit of money per season so could be well worth it.

How about it? Anyone agree with this idea?

(i know this is posted in general as well its just people mainly don't look in this forum! Wink )

There are advertisments on the front page:

http://yorkcityfc.com/

Acombred has asked more than once that people click on them on a daily basis.

I don't think a 'links/adverts' page will work, it would have to be banner ads.

At the moment there are no ads on the site, except a few on the left hand side of the front page (the bet365 ad is as appeared on the YCST site, using the YCST affiliate link, so benefits the Trust, while the Google ads contribute a small percentage towards the running of the site).

I have thought about putting banner ads on every page, they'd need to be on the forum to have the most impact. Maybe one day.

But if people can click on those Google ads then that would help. Wink

Does just clicking on them generate cash?

If so, is it unique IPs that are registered, or number of clicks?

You can probably see where I'm going here . . .

I've got adsense on my site and its just the number of clicks that count.

it's the clicks but if you click many times then it doesn't count.

If people can click on each advert once per day that'd be great!

But no clicking on the same link many times as it wont count that (obvious cheating!) Wink
