Released Norwich City goalkeeper Paul Crichton is in line for a move to Nationwide Conference side York City.
Crichton, 35, was freed by Norwich at the end of last season, and swiftly replaced by Dundee's Scottish international stopper Paul Gallacher.
He moved to Carrow Road for £150,000 from Burnley in June 2001, but made only six Canary appearances, all of them in the 2001-02 season, and never once finished on the winning side.
His five starts and one sub appearance saw City record three draws and three losses, with his last outing the 2-1 defeat at Coventry on March 9, 2002.
Crichton has been on trial with York, relegated from the Football League last season, and played in their 1-1 friendly draw with Championship side Leeds United this week.
Manager Chris Brass said: "I'm hoping we can tie him down. He has impressed and we have had preliminary talks. I think it's a case of seeing if we can meet in the middle."
