York City are being linked with a move for unsettled Grimsby Town striker Jonathan Rowan if recent speculation amongst Mariners supporters is to be believed.
The twenty-three-year-old forward is reported to have failed to return to pre-season training after rejecting the offer of a new contract at Blundell Park.
The Grimsby-born front-man joined his hometown club as a trainee four years ago, since when he has made thirty-four senior appearances and scored eight goals.
York player-boss Chris Brass is known to be currently scouring the transfer market for fresh forward talent, though confirmation of a definite interest in Rowan has yet to emerge from Bootham Crescent.
