Chris Brass remained in fighting mood, despite bemoaning another woeful City performance, after the Minstermen crashed 0-3 to Bristol Rovers.
The city boss has now completed his four match suspension and plans to launch himself straight back into the side for Sunday's vital match against relegation rivals, Macclesfield Town.
Reading between the lines, it would appear Brass has been appalled at the lack of leadership and stability in the City defence during his enforced absence and he seems more than ready to retake up the burden himself;
"We need people to stand up and be counted, we've conceded three bad goals and it keeps happening," he said.
"I didn't want to get back in the side, but it looks likely I'll be back for the next game.
"We've got eight games left and I want to make sure sooner rather than later we get out of this mess."
Nobody can doubt that Chris will show his characteristic commitment and fight for the City cause. Whether this will be enough to prevent a free-falling team from entering the Conference abyss, remains to be seen. |
