York City boss Chris Brass is looking to the senior members of his side to help the club avoid the drop into the Nationwide Conference.
The club have been dragged into relegation trouble after going ten games without a win.
Brass expects his seasoned pros to lead from the front in their bid to avoid relegation and to keep them out of the bottom two.
"I'm looking for them to step forward and take on a bit of added responsibility," he said.
"The experienced lads have been there and know what it's like to be on a run without a win.
"They can help out the younger lads, who will learn from it."
The tight financial budget at the club means Brass cannot afford to bring in experienced players although the recent arrival of former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Kevin Donavan should help once he gains match fitness.
