Sorry im bored and really like Proctor. Whats the current situation with him, has he rejected Sunderlands contract? Do they still want £500,000 for him?

If we dont sign him we must sign someone up front. Otherwise we'll have 3 players well into their 30's, and one guy who hasnt played a league match.
Of the 30 something's I presume Mathie is only there cos he's still in contract and nobody else would want him. Who knows what toll all the injuries to Duff have taken at his age, and Nogan aint gettin any younger.
It would be expecting too much for Wilding to come in and be as effective as Proctor, Wilding himself admits he's not an out and out goalscorer.
I presume Proctor is hopin that a 1st or 2nd div club will meet the asking price. Our only hope I think is another season on loan.

I think to be honest the only games Mathie will get next year are occasional subs. His legs have gone and if it wasn't clearly counterproductive to his morale to list him, as we wouldn't have any takers and he'd just rot on the list all year, he'd have gone on the transfer list by now.

i think theres an argument for terminating Mathies contract and paying him off. You could say its dead money, but I dont think theres anything to be gained from keeping him at the club.
I think its potentially bad for morale for other players to see the likes of Mathie turning up for training with no prospect of playing and gettin paid for it.

It would be a good sign of JB's ambition if he was to sign Procter. I mean, who have we signed really? I'm not at all convinced about the existing personnel that we have, and at this rate will struggle for the umpteenth season in a row!!!!!

I've posted numerous requests that we sign Proctor.
Walwyn, I agree with everything you say.
We need Proctor or a young pacy striker.

Hey guys relax, the World Cup will play a big part in shaping this year's transfer market. Espcially if the African and South American sides do well Premier League side will be chasing cheaper talent and the Nationwide may get some cast offs.

We could also get lucky as I would reckon that the combine value of the England squad based on performance would be viable for JB if he can manage to save some dosh by foregoing a tyre change during the season

Never mind the Africans and South Americans, how about getting those South Korean or Japanese strikers! Awesome!

Deeuu has made a sound point - with the financial situations of many Nationwide teams looking a bit dodgy I can't see many of them splashing out half a mill on Proccy, who didn't exactly top the div 3 scoring last season. I reckon we might have a chance of getting him back due to the glut of players on the transfer list, maybe even as a loanee again...Unless he gets a game for sun'land but I doubt it.....

The one good thing with MP is that JB will have had chance to sell the club to him
