I am totally fed up with the way this city is run so I am going to stand for president of York at the next election.

Policies.

1. No councillor will be allowed to earn more than national average salary. If somebody wants to be a public servant then should not fleecing the local rate payers for over £70,000 a year.

2. Bring down the voting age to 12 so young people have a say on what is happening and do not feel excluded.

3. Instead of using water cannon on football hooligans and rioters, I will introduce the spraying of organic green slimey stuff with essential oils.

4. Re-employ all parking wardens as dog poo collectors.

5. Look to build a major stadium complex which can be used for football aswell as pop concerts etc on the Wigginton Road and close to a York-Scarborough railway line.

6. Investigate all building grants authorised and paid out by the Environmental Health Department to works on properties owned by Housing Associations from '92-'98.

I don't think York councillors are on £70,000! If they are, I'm moving back home - Newcastle councillors are on £7,000!

It was reported in the Evening Press about 2 years ago that the leader would get 70K and the leader of the opposition group around 45K

That wouldn't be the same gentleman who was arrested today, would it. (According to the YEP).
Can we assume Daley Mayall will get a world exclusive by publishing the photos in the YE PEST?

I only said on Monday that I was standing and he's already resigned.

Mind you I will have to drop the pseudonym as it unfortunately breaks the Trade Descriptions Act.

you are a rotten bunch of bastards, spare a thought for the poor bugger who's been bailed until 6th June thus depriving him of the chance to see France v Uraguay AND Denmark v Senegal!!!

Any volunteers to tape it for him, or is tape a dodgy word at the moment

Greg this is your prompt to break into the Phil Ochs song "Love me, love me, love me I'm a liberal" or isn't your musical taste that perverse...oh another taboo word maybe?

you do have to hand it to him too, he can't half pull classy chicks.

"Fay Simpson, 31, who said she was Coun Hills's fiancee when the Evening Press called at his Huntington Road home, has told how police officers with sniffer dogs searched the house following the arrest. The mother-of- five, who is originally from Barnsley, revealed she was an alcoholic former prostitute, who had "worked" in Leeds, and a reformed heroin addict.

She said she had been off drugs for five months and Coun Hills had never touched them."

Jammy bugger now I know why you are all on his case
