York City have announced that a special festival game is being organised at Bootham Crescent for Sunday 7th March, kick off 2 pm, admission £5 and £3 for concessions. The game will be a three-fold celebration of staying at Bootham Crescent, the 10 year anniversary of the 3rd Division play off victory at Wembly, and the 20 year anniversary of the record 100 points League title achievement.

Trust Member Graham Bradbury is organising the two teams of York City heroes of the past and the personalities taking part will be announced shortly, but already include; John Macphail, Jimmy Seal, Wayne Hall, Andy McMillan, John McCarthy, Tony Canhan, Malcolm Crosby and Chris Topping. Graham has also requested that any former player wishing to take part on the day whether to play or simply to add their support, could they please contact him.

The special day will also incorporate other events including an after match celebration in the Social Club with the opportunity of meeting past and present York City Players. As an added bonus Nick Bassett, Branch Manager of Preston and Duckworth Jewellers has kindly offered to sponsor the Man of The Match. The successful player will be presented on the pitch with a watch to commemorate the occasion. All players taking part on the day will sign a home and away shirt both of which will be framed and auctioned at a later date. Further details regarding the day will be announced later.

Commercial Director, Jason McGill said "The York City Board are organising the celebration on behalf of The Trust Board and we are hoping for a large attendance from our fans in support of this special day. This is a fund raising event to contribute to the exceptional costs of the abortive move to Huntington Stadium which was highlighted by Terry Doyle in this week's Evening Press.

It will be a family day that will give our supporters an entertaining and enjoyable afternoon in return for their generosity and continued help to The Club. I would like to specially thank Graham Bradbury for his hardwork and efforts in arranging for past players to participate in the event. A full programme for the event will be announced in due course, but I would like all our supporters to put the date in their diaries so that we have a large attendance on the day."
