A group of York City supporters are to embark on a fundraising 45-mile cycle ride for their Club next month. Former employee and lifelong fan James Richardson has instigated the event which will see a number of fellow Minstermen bike across to Hull’s Kingston Communications Stadium for the fixture between the two teams on Saturday February 7.
Leaving York at approximately 8am, and heading through Osbaldwick, Dunnington, Stamford Bridge, Pocklington and Market Weighton, the group will mainly be using small country roads and are not planning to use the busy A1079.
Return travel has been organised for the cyclists, who will not be expected to make the reverse journey back to York in the saddle! Anyone wishing to join the event and do the ride themselves, should get in touch using the contact details below. Numbers will be limited because of the arrangements for the return trip (unless you can make your own way back!). A meeting for all participants will be held towards the end of January.
All money raised will be handed to the York City Supporters Trust, to help enable them and all the directors, management, players and staff at Bootham Crescent to continue the excellent work, which has been carried out in recent times.
Any individual or business wishing to help sponsor the event should contact James via or on 01904 784523.
