Even though Mark Ovendale is a super goalkeeper, i feel that towards the end of the season chris porter should be given a go in the city goal. I think it would b just reward for the hard work he puts in playing for the reserves and as backup to ovendale. surely some of u would like 2 c him given a game? |

Porter knows he is second choice and will have to wait for his chance in the first team. Ovendale has looked good and has so far done no wrong.
However, about Porter getting games at the end of the season I think it depends on where we are in the league.

Y not give porter just 1 game?! Or start him for a match and sub him after 5 mins!
But Ovendale is still the better keeper and was unlucky not 2 save the penalty against hull!

Why sub him after 5 minutes? Surely that will just be a waste of a substitute. I mean we should have played him in the LDV against Halifax and that would have probably been his game for the season. I can't see him dislodging the "king of saves", and if he does, it will only be because Ovendale is injured or suspended.

Hasn't he been poor in the reserves? I certainly get that impression from Tim's match reports.

I was being sarcastic! He should get a whole game at some point in the season, like the last of season if it isnt important

MotM and Outstanding against Newcastle Reserves. Was excellent against Darlo reserves too.

Porter might be good, but Ovendale has hardly done anything wrong. No point in fixing something that isn't broken.

That's exactly what he is - a backup to Ovendale. No more, no less. |
