Erm, I don't know whether it's just me, but I've had to log in each I visit for the past two weeks or so. I don't think anything has changed in my browser settings, and can't think of anything I've done to cause this behaviour. (Plus, I reckon I'm techie enough to not change anything without understanding the implications on cookies and session-management)

So has anything changed on the server-side that would cause this?

It's getting a tad annoying, because the 'read or unread thread' markers aren't appearing either :-(

(I'm using Mozilla Firebird 0.7 / Linux)

Matthew

We did move the site to a more reliable server.

Have you tried deleting the cookie and trying again?

It's fine for me & I have not had any other reports recently of this problem so it may be a problem with your browser.

Yes, have tried deleting cookies with no success.

Will investigate more... you're right, it is more likely to be a client problem :-/

Update: I figured it out while in the shower this morning: I've been using "yorkcityfc.com/forum" instead of "yorkcityfc.com/forum", so the address in the cookie didn't match the location.

Duh! Embarassed

You must have typed that in manually then, as if you go to http://yorkcityfc.com rather than http://yorkcityfc.com and click any of the links to the forum, they're all absolute (not relative) links that specify the "www" prefix. All the other links are relative though.

I made the forum links absolute for this reason so that cookies wouldn't get mixed up.

I should have thought of this before actually as well! Embarassed
