YCST has raised an outstanding £500,000 during its 18 months of existence.
Trust board member Peter Rawnsley now believes the group is one of the best supported in the world in terms of relative fan bases.
The Trust's accounts were released today and show that between Jan 2002 and June 2003 fans donated more than £450,000 so that the Supporters Trust could save the club.
John McGill donated an extra £50,000 and the magical half million figure was reached.
York only had a loss of £5,110 over the 18 month period.
In total the trust recieved:
£176,000 from the loan notes scheme
£60,000 from bucket collections
More than £150,000 from fundraising execises.
Fulham fans handed over £25,000
£10,000 from supporters of other clubs
In total that adds up to about £456,000
The trusts expenditure included, £126,000 contributed towards the survival of the club while the rescue package was been copleted. £212,000 invested in the new York City company and £49,000 in other expenditure.
Rawnsley estimates that gate reciepts (£600,000), Money from football league and grants (£400,000) and commercial revenue (£500,000) currently raise the £1.5 Million needed to keep the Minstermen run on an even keel.
He goes on to say, "The single key issue that needs to be resolved for the club is to have a decent home stadium which, at the moment, overshadows everything."
