| He was always destined to fail. He did have very big shoes to fill, in every sense. Bolton have over-achieved for years thanks to Big Sam and appointing his assistant was never going to be successful, they needed a new lease of life and they got the same stuff from a lesser class manager. |

Shirley he failed as he tried to overhaul the side too much and put his own mark on things? The players obviously couldn't adapt to the new "passing game" - another Brian Kidd like figure IMO.

My statement was based purely on the fact that he wore the Madonna style headset. It struck me, even before his team kicked a ball in anger, that he was attempting to let everyone know that he too could use these fancy dan technologies and have sports psychologists/statisticians muttering in his ear for 90 minutes, and that he was every bit the manager that Big Sam had been... never gonna happen in fairness
