Is it just me or are they gambling big time on signing very good quality players?
wasnt it a month ago they were financially struggling?
I expect the march brothers will be on a wedge and they also tried to sign tommy gallagher who would have also been well paid. Im not clued up on the knights much anymore but anyone know where this is coming from.
Oh, And got to fancy promotion this year. |

Its because we have now started something called Squadbuilder which means the club are asking adults to give them 300 pounds on a yearly basis and under 16 100 pounds on a yearly basis from now to improve the quality of the players at the club.

As you may have read, unless the club progresses financially we are going to struggle to compete to a high standard within the National League. By donating £300 (£100 for U16s) you can help the club budget for the season that lies ahead, knowing you have done your part to help the Knights crusade. In return you will receive:
* Entrance to all Knights home games (league cup and play off games not included).
* Bring a friend for free offer to two home matches (booking of these tickets to be requested at least 3 days prior to match day).
* Invite to 2008 launch night.
* Access to Vice Presidents/Sponsors Lounge (on a first come first served basis on match days).
* £10 off ticket for Presentation Evening 2008.
We would like to hope that we could achieve 1,000 members that would give the club a fund of £300,000 per year*. This money would go into the 'Squad Builder Fund' guaranteeing the money you donate will go on the recruitment of players.
It is important to know that this is not a one off payment and is something that needs to be replicated on a yearly basis to sustain the development of the club. Achieving this target would allow us to work to the maximum salary cap levels in this division and enable us to compete financially.
* The value of a season ticket will then be deducted to cover the cost of overheads.
That is from the York City Knights website.

We are wanting him to resign for Knights however he has not signed a new deal as of yet.
I hope he does resign for the club though instead of opting to move away to any other club because as you say when he is not injured he is a class player.

Only thing I fear is that the knights will carry too many squad players not good enough for that level. Is Tom Tsang still signed, The lesser talented Spurr brother too? |

I have never heard of Tom Tsang.
And Mark Spurr the one you will be referring to has resigned he was mostly in the academy last season with a few first team appearances.

You will find out that Oldham have recruited the best do not know how they can afford half there players at the standard that they have got them at.
Oldham will win the league and i reckon Knights will finish 3rd or 4th.

Oldham have a few backers, They just pick and choose when to put their money in
To be fair Oldham would walk away with that league if they tapped into the youth systems at the local clubs there. I watched a few u18s games there and the standard was phenomenal. sadly they all waltz off to salford or carry on playing amateur. |
