Forget Russia v England and France v England - this is the real big one tomorrow!
Are you going Phil and how do you think your boys will do? Would you settle for a Scotland win if it meant one of the big two didn't qualify?

Scotland 2-1 Ukraine. You heard it here first- it's looking like a tight one though.
I must admit that I've based that scoreline on the flip of a coin, I think that the home advantage might just have it though.... FWIW

I am going to Woking.
No I wouldn't settle for a Scotland win, if Ukraine don't qualify I don't care who qualifies.

My Ukrainian football hopes are now solely pinned on Shakhtar unfortunately, and they have a habit of letting me down.
The national team have had it. Apparently Blokhin is stepping down if they don't win in Glasgow on Saturday. He's just about the only decent coach in the country at the moment, despite the recent rennaissance of Miron Markevich. |

I remember Phil posting after Scotland's excellent win over France (that sticks in my throat) that he expected the Ukraine to piss on Scotland's party - I reckon he might be correct. But I suppose every championship need one small minnow in it perhaps this one is Scotland's turn

I think you've still got some promising guys coming through Phil. Konstantyn Kravchenko impressed when he came on against Aberdeen last week.

Ihope you get through though - and with luck you will be drawn in our group Remember the last time we played in the group stages? Three easy points for England is always welcome

7 points from 3 games.
Who'd have thought beating the WC runners up twice and you are still struggling.
Let's hope for that "special relationship" with Italy, to shine through when they both need a point in the last game.

18 months or so ago I remember posting on here about how Scotland had turned the corner under Walter Smith and were slowly but surely getting back to being a decent team after a number of years in the wilderness.
Well today proved we are well and truly back and a force to be reckoned with again and boy does it feel good !
Whatever happens in Georgia and at home to Italy, we've gone toe-to-toe with three of the top teams in Europe and more than matched them.
Big Eck has carried on the good work done by Walter and we now have a sense of belief and confidence which has been missing for too long.
Well done lads - 2 more results and we're back where we belong !

By playing 3 up front the Ukraine had a right go today and that suited Scotland who don't have players of the same ability. They took their chances when they came along and I am glad to say that the clown they had in goal today was at best suspect for Scotlands first and third goals.
This result I think ensures that the game against Italy will have something riding on it regardless of what happens on Wednesday.
As for Wednesday I think Georgia will present just as tough a proposition as the Ukraine did today especially with Scotland having suspnesions and injury worries. They dominated at Hampden and were unlucky to lose and Tblisi will be a tough place to go. I still expect Scotland to do it though.
As for England you cannot gauge anything from today because they were playing a poor side and the job was done at half time meaning that the second half went flat. |

I'd take a draw in Moscow, really would. I think that last-game-of-the-campaign mentality against Croatia will get a victory next month. |

The Russia game needs to be a true old school USSR fixture. Hostile fans, snow on the pitch, Red Army (the real one) surrounding the pitch with rifles. I miss the 80s. I don't remember much, like. |

Hey hats off to you Scots lads - a great win and to think you will put out France or Italy when you qualify - one of the teams we always find difficult to beat in World Cups and in Euro Championships.
Go Scotland help England win the Euros

Fair play to Scotland - the UEFA ranking system tries to stop the minows from spoiling the party and the Scots have done well enough to qualify a hundred times over when you consider their group. Credit where its due. |

Let's hope Italy and France qualify, in fact it's already arranged.
