Coppa America held this year in Venezuela. Well worth stopping up for. Great football and goals galore and so far all bar one of the games have been entertaining. Pablo Aimars goal v USA the other night was just as worthy as that over hyped Brazil goal in 1970.
Hope to see more South Americans in the Premiership. Climate should not be an issue. The European League represented the most is the Ukrainian League.
Also Scotland have qualified for the U20 World Cup in Canada. They lost to Japan 3-1 in first game and the curse of the Scottish goalkeeper struck again.
Still plenty of good players/football to be watched in both tournaments. |

Watched Scotland Vs Japan the other night and thought the Japanese just about deserved it - didn't help that we threw 2 in for them but there you go !
Nice to see last year's Albion hero Robert "Snoddy" Snodgrass (AD's new favourite Scottish player ) coming on as a sub and setting up our goal with a sublime through-ball.
2 games to go and hopefully, if Archie Gemmill decides to play Snoddy from the start, we should horse our next two opponents ...

After leading 1-0 at the break. Scotland concede in the last minute to lose to Costa Rica 2-1 and thus are on their way home.
Still its been a great tournament. The USA after looking dreadful in their opening draw v South Korea produced some brilliant attacking football to beat Poland 6-1 and then Brazil 2-1 to win their group. Perhaps Freddie Adu is finally realising his potential. He has become the first player to score hat trick in U17 and U20 World Cups.
Elsewhere it was good to see North Korea taking part. Surprised given that the tournament is just over the US border in Canada with the temptation for the players to claim asylum etc etc.
In Copa America Quarter Finals last night were great as well. Brazil finally start to produce the goods beating Chile 6-1 and an end to end 4-1 Uruguay victory against hosts Venezuela. Hopefully Mexico v Paraguay and Argentina v Peru will be just as good. |

Mexico 6 Paraguay 0. 68 goals in 21 games now. They don't like defending in South America do they still makes great football though. |

I watched highlights of the Poland USA match. The Yanks were quality, but you cannot help but feel over half of their goals were either lucky or could have been easily averted.
Adu looked sh*t hot mind. |

Watched Argentina decimate Peru 4-0 after a goalless first half this morning. The trio of Messi, Tevez and Riquelme (I thought he had retired from international football??) were a different class, and even Mascherano looked absolutely quality.
Given time, Messi could be the greatest player of this generation.

Agree Messi was superb last night. The nearest thing I have seen to Maradona. As seen last season in the Spanish cup he likes to try and copy his goals.
Also Mexico last night have Nery Castillo who at the moment plays for Olympiakos but on his perfomances in the Copa will surely be heading for one of Europes bigger clubs.

Messi scores a suberb goal in the semi. Arg 3-0 Mexico after 80 mins, surely a Brazil Argentina final.
79 goals in 20odd games now. Destined to be a goalless final! In all seriousness Argentina look the best side in the world and should win.
Can't believe three Mexico players withdrew due to fatigue
