In reality the cheats from West Ham will NOT get a points deduction to send them down - however if the boot had been on the other foot and it had been Wigan or Sheff U who had cheated and West Ham had been relegated as sure as eggs is eggs the FA would have deducted points to ensure West Ham survived.

It's a North South thing with the South always being allowed to bend the rules and the FA doing absolutely nothing about it,

Mind you if we were in Italy the scenario would be that West Ham would have points deducted - they would appeal and the FA suspend the points for a season but not relegate Sheff U and would start next season with 23 teams in the Premiershit!

yeh that renton- bludy trouble maker Wink .

funny how a team this year got booted out of fa cup for fielding an illegal player think it was bury and yet west ham get a fine of £5.5m, which when you look at how valuable it is to stay in the prem is nothing.

just shows how times have changed- when a small club draws a big team in the cup, the first thing mentioned is money, when a team gets promoted to premiership MONEY.

does anyone think that maybe 10, 20 years in the future there will be a revolt by the fans against this money spinning machine?

Nope because the majority of football"fans" watch their football on sky.

I really wanted Sheffield United to stay up. I hate Warnock - I think he's a cockend to be blunt about it, but I hated the way West Ham treated Pardew, then they should have been docked points and weren't .... Embarassed

Plus their chairman looks like a conehead.

I am under the impression that West Ham did not field an ilegible player and the FA fined them for other irregularities.

Correct.

But I'm not arsed getting into an arguament about the merits of West Ham's Premiership place, if anyone does indeed want to argue.

f***ing glad Sheff Utd are down.

That arrogant w****r Warnock deserved it, I remember his comment earlier on saying that they deserve to be a top mid-table team with the way they're playing.

Is he having a laugh? They're one of the worst teams I've seen in the Premiership this year. Almost as bad as Watford.

How can you be so sure ? and also people are mistaken. The Premier League has not offered any evidence as yet that Tevez was eligable to play. That is why the four clubs are more than likely to proceeed with their actions.

This is from the sun this morning. (It's been in several other "better" papers aswell but the sun is the first one i came to)

Quote:
" But Premier League spokesman Dan Johnson denied that Tevez, whose goals were largely responsible for keeping West Ham up as Sheffield United followed Charlton and Watford into the Championship, was ever ineligible.
Johnson did, though, concede that Joorabchian's influence was against the rules.
He told 'The Sun': "This has never been a question of West Ham fielding an ineligible player. #
"From the day they signed him, West Ham have owned his registration. That has never been an issue.
"West Ham have never tried to conceal the fact Tevez and Javier Mascherano are owned by Kia Joorabchian and MSI. That is not against the rules.
"The only problem we had with the deal was the existence of a clause in the agreement which would allow Joorabchian to sell the players to another club at any time." "

Tevez has been legal to play for West ham the whole time, they have done nothing wrong. When west ham re-signed Tevez before the wigan game, the premier league gave them the same permission to do so that they did to Liverpool. Any points deduction that west ham get will have to be given to liverpool aswell because it was the EXACT same deal that allowed Tevez to stay.

As it says in the article, West ham have never tried to hide the fact that Tevez was owned by a third party (MSI) the premier league didn't have a problem with that. West ham received the £5.5 million fine, not for "Illegally" signing tevez, but for breaching rule U18, which says that no third party can influence the performance of a player. They got fined £2,5 million for that and the other £3 million was for failing to act in good faith towards the League.

Therefore West ham have done absolutely f**k all wrong.

I was going from this. However I think it was pointed out that Liverpool had fully signed Mascherano and the player is owned by them thus meaning if sold they will get the transfer fee. That as far as I am aware is still not the case with Tevez so the deals are not the same.

West Ham lied and gained an unfair advantage over other clubs.

How the f**k did they lie? It says in my post above (I think?!) that west ham never tried to disclose any documents about the signing of Tevez. Also it says that they haven't fielded an ineligable player. It's all been legal.

The only problem the league had was with MSI owning Tevez, because they thought that MSI were influencing how Tevez played e.g. interfering in squad selection. That's what part of the fine was for (£2.5 million) The rest was for failing to act in good faith towards the league, allthough this only came about because the previous owner (Terrence Brown) had lied about some things (Not major things) and the league didn't agree with this, When Magnusson took over, he inherited these lies from Brown and quickly sorted them out. The league were then happy with it.

The only advantage West ham have gained over the other teams is signing a world class player, how does this break any rules? it doesn't.

The fact is the gang of four (Sheff Utd, Charlton, Wigan and Fulham are just clutching at straws. It's typical now that Sheff Utd have gone down, they are the ones who are "Stepping up the case for legal action" as quoted in all the papers. Wigan aren't having much to do with it now nor are Charlton or Fulham.

The whole thing has been legal from the start, Sheff Utd don't have a leg to stand on in this case and the league have more or less told them that!

Just realised that Sheff Utd's Chief Exec is Jason Rockett who used to play for Scarborough in the mid/late nineties. He's quite an impressive character combining his football career with Uni studies and then creating a commercial property portfolio.

If it's true or false, I don't care. Blatter is still an idiot.
