Hi everyone
I'm running the ING New York Marathon on 5 November to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and would really welcome your support.
Originally there were three of us but it's just me now!
I need to raise at least £1000 to secure my place in the race. Flights and accommodation come out of my own pocket.
Cystic Fibrosis is the UK's most common life-threatening, inherited disease and affects more than 7500 babies, children and young adults.
At present there is no cure for CF, but the faulty gene has been identified and doctors and scientists are working to find ways of repairing or replacing it. One of the main objectives of the CF Trust is to fund this work.
People with CF are living longer than ever before. Until the 1930s, the life expectancy of a baby with CF was only a few months. Today the average life expectancy for someone with CF is around 31 years.
One of my best mates has CF (and he's 30 in January) while my newly born cousin is a carrier.
Please take a moment to sponsor me. It's really easy - you can donate online by credit or debit card at the following address:
http://www.justgiving.com/kevclelland
All donations are secure and sent electronically to Cystic Fibrosis Trust. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will automatically reclaim 28% Gift Aid on your behalf, so your donation is worth even more. Please join me in supporting Cystic Fibrosis Trust and a fabulous cause.
Cheers

i will definately donate some money, my best friend since i was about 3 years old has the disease and to think he only has roughly 10 years to live is devastating personally for me, can't imagine what it's like for him taking handfuls of pills a day , having to have physiotherapy to keep the mucus building up in his lungs every night, it's horrible and i would like to urge you all maybe just to even sponsor a couple of pounds because it can go a long way, good look with the marathon mate and i appreciate what you are doing.

Cheers for the donation Janesy - though I thought you footballers earned shitloads these days!
As for the rest of you, get your fingers out!

Easy mate. Was just joking! I appreciate your support and I'm sure CF Trust do too. Top man!

A quick thanks to everyone who sponsored me and other City fans for your encouragement. 3hrs 37mins and can still walk and talk!
An amazing experience with 2million people lining the streets of New York.
