- Stevenage were beaten 2-1 on Saturday by one of last season's strugglers, Altrincham. The Stevenage scorer was George Boyd

- Summer signings for Boro include experienced striker Tony Thorpe, defender Santos Gaia from Exeter and former Canvey keeper Danny Potter

- They also have a new manager with Mark Stimson (last season's Grays manager) taking over from Graham Westley
