Administrators acting on behalf of the club today won back control of the racecourse ground from former club chairman Alex Hamilton.
Mr Hamilton had separated the ground from the club some years ago and sought to make large profts by selling the ground for developement.
Various conflicts of interest were uncovered during the case and appeals that followed.
Now the club has regained ownership of the ground administrators are confident a buyer for the club can be found.
Best of luck to them |

What, you mean they haven't got a massive loan to buy the ground back from him?
Silly people.

"BCH, and Persimmons would benefit from the demise of the club, and it would also be convenient for the Council as it would remove the thorny problem they would have to come to grips with in relation to the planning application on Bootham Crescent.
So, let’s tackle the root cause of the problem, the signing away of the lease by John Batchelor in return for £400,000 from Persimmons.
That would be a valid transaction had the agreement been made by YCFC and the football club had received the cash.
But I clearly remember John Batchelor saying in the Radio York debate that the name on the contract was The York City Racing Team, who received the money.
So, in effect, the Football Club signs its lease away for no consideration at all, and if that is the case, the legality of that deal must be able to be challenged.
If it can be overturned, and the lease reinstated, it would secure the future of York City Football Club, and in our current state this option is surely worth exploring by submitting all of the documents to an experienced QC for a written opinion.
If his opinion turns out to be positive and we had a good enough Prima Facie case, it would be necessary to apply for an injunction to prevent our eviction pending the outcome of any legal case."
Unfortunately, a voice in the wilderness.
If only ..............

I recall we were told at the time that there may be a case by our administrators, but it would cost money. Which "we didn't have", we were told that we should just forget about it, by whom ?.
In light of
recent occurrences it does revive the same old questions.
