Surely if it was a 'pants pitch' the scores would be low?

Depends how you look at it, I always thought Headingley was a great pitch, low scores where batsmen had to really work to score run...whereas the Oval was pants... Shocked

I am hoping for too much, but I'd love to see the Proteas win it, or Monkey and I are never going to hear the end of it Rolling Eyes

That was the main news story in Australia tomorrow, until... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Now they'll have to pap on about the Commonwhocares Games instead.. I'd put big money that will get relegated to late night local news...

Even more impressive is this

Highest score batting second:
332-8: New Zealand v Australia, Christchurch, 2005/06

The Proteas smashed that whereas the Aussies only beat this:

Highest team score:
398-5: Sri Lanka v Kenya, Kandy, 1995/96

and still LOST

Watched this from start to finish. Absolutely incredible game. To score 434 in 50 overs and still lose! Awesome batting from everyone!
Entertainment from start to finish with the outcome of the game in doubt till the winning shot.
Glad SA won but What a Game!

It was bad enough for Michael Lewis to conceed 113 runs, but to then go and blaze it all over the scoreboard in bright red lights, 'highest ever runs conceeded' must have made him feel a whole lot better.
