I would copy and paste it for you except the links wouldn't work and might get me arrested...!)

Sends a shiver down my spine having spent 10 years in aircraft engineering, at a guess it was poorly maintained and hadn't had an NDT inspection recently on the wingbox and main spa areas Confused

It looked like a massive failure of the mid-section, possibly some form of fatigue prompted by the weight-change of the dumping of the water load, but it seemed very odd that the wings would fold up like that; thought the weight of the engines would force them down rather than up. The forces involved must have been huge.

The C-130 wing box and main spar areas were routinely checked on services whilst I was in the RAF and NDT (Non Destructive Testing) including the use of black light was used to check for any cracks. At a guess the inspections hadn't been carried out and the pilots simply pulled up too hard to get them out of the valley causing catastrophic failure.

We had a similar scenario when I was in and lost one in Scotland that go too far down a valley and realised they didn't have enough to run to get the altitude required. They pulled up too hard stalled and fell vertically into the valley, the only thing that survived was the tail section and strangley the apples from the snap boxes that were strewn across the valley floor Shocked

The wings surely "folded" up due to the large amounts of aerodynamic lift produced by the wings at that speed Confused
