Apparently "Angels" by The Fat Dancer is the most popular song played at funerals these days but anyone watching today must have been blown away by Peter Corry's rendition of "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables.
Truly moving stuff.

I must admit, I was listening on 5Live and it was quite emotional stuff. I never dreamed that Eamonn Holmes could bring tears to my eyes other than when I accidentally found myself watching one of his dreadful TV shows.

Tell you what - I want Peter Corry to do MY funeral after yesterday ! (scheduled for circa 2039 at current rate of vodka consumption !)
We'll start with Peter singing "Bring Him Home" as I'm carried onto the pitch at BC (I'm an aethiest ! ) and then my fellow fans can take turns stepping up to talk about what a fat, drunken, irritating git I was before I'm buried under the centre-circle to the strains of mr Corry's accapella version of "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC.
Afterwards I'll have left £20 behind the bar in The SC so all my friends can have a few pints to remember me by ....

Again the BBC disgraced itself by putting this populist crap on the television.
George Best RIP but LIVE on BBC1?!?

Careful Phil, you'll have the R&B emotion police swooping down for a remark like that. The very idea of having a mind of your own. tsk.

Has to be the clear winner. Extra points for the crowd getting the body out of the coffin.

A tradition usually frowned upon by the C of E.

Have to admit I was somewhat thrown by the title of this thread.
So how about some good tunes to play at funerals?
We could have "Down down" by Status Quo, "Under the Boardwalk" or Kenny Roger's "Somethings Burning". |
