Are there going to be any "football specials" running for this game? The piss poor excuse of trains that run between York and Scarboro surely wont be able to cope with the number of fans, also bearing in mind the early kick off there are probably only 2 possible trains to catch before the game.

Absolutley bizzare that the game's been brought forward, I imagine for fear of fans getting tanked up and causing trouble, when it's being played a month after the 24 hour drinking laws came in.

Didn't seem too far to me. Maybe that's due to he number of pubs on route.

Hi All
Got my tickets to the game earlier then had a look for train tickets but GNER where want £28.60 each for a return journey, total £57.20 for two. Had a look on the internet and we've manged to get a hotel room and THE GRAND, don't eat the food, for £30 for the two of us. Just have to pay £4 for car parking outside the hotel.
The Link to the Hotel is

Also if anyone fancies meet up for a drink in the evening we have been told Scarborough have a table dancing club near by!!!!!!!

The grand is one of the worst in Scarborough - glorified B&B - nothing more.

St Nics isn't too bad apart from the hellish noise in the electrics and some awful creaking of the pipes when you use the water.

There's always the coastliner bus which goes past York station at about 10:45 on 2nd January (make sure you get the 843 to Scarborough), before going through Heworth, Stockton on Forest and it stops on Seamer Road. £9 return- takes just over an hour so you may also save on a cab fare between the station and the ground.

It really isn't that far from the Station to the ground. Obviously some people just don't like walking anyway. About 2 miles I think.
