Is there no chance the minstermen will be putting a coach on to Morecambe? Just checked trains and it takes over 4 hours to get there and back!!!

We've got Morecambe and Kidderminster away in successive weeks, and each looks like a lengthy train journey. Engineering work on the west coast line looks like making the journey to Morecambe via Preston longer than usual.

Well run both trips, if there's enough demand. We realise people aren't always able to make a firm commitment so far in advance, but if anyone who wants to go on either of these trips lets us know, we can gauge whether it's worth booking the coach.

The starting price for each trip will be £17 for members (£20 for non-embers). That's based on only 20 people travelling, so we don't need too many to make it viable.

The price will fall as more people book. 25 people = £15 (£18 ); 30 people = £12 (£16); 35 people = £10 (£14)

pm us or email

Frank

I fancy a trip to the seaside in November! I would definitely go to Morecambe on a YMM coach.

As the Kidderminster game is on my birthday, I'll have to check with the boss to see whether she has any plans to take me out somewhere special.

Not sure yet Frank. It depends if I decide to stay over in Morecambe for the weekend.

If I am not staying I will definitely come on the coach because the train fare from York to Morecambe is stupid, £36 or something like that last time I went. If there's engineering work too then it'll be a nightmare.

Put me down for one please Frank.

I'm in front of Lardmonster here, I've asked the 'bread knife' and I've been given the go ahead.

Go on Lardy, bite the bullet.

By my reckoning that's about a dozen for Morecambe, and slightly fewer for Kidderminster.

We need 20 to enable each trip to run, so Kidderminster's looking dodgy, but Morecambe's looking possible.

The sooner people can make firm bookings, the better.

And the more people that travel, the cheaper the trips will be.

We've started going by mini-bus ourselves in partnership with the Jorvik Reds. It was so much easier that way (rather than going on YMM) as it would mean YMM would have to change their leaving times and we also are able to drive to where we are actually playing as appose to getting dropped off at the ground and having to find our way down. We appreciate the YMM running us down previously but doing it this way takes much less effort.

That's fair enough I reckon, I think everyone who travels should do so at their own convenience.

I still think that there are enough people who could make most YMM trips viable - I think Kidderminster might be a bit optimistic though, but you never know - YMM did FGR last year!

Yes, got your email today after paying my phone bill Embarassed

However, we need more definite bookings if we're going to be able to run these trips. Currently we have only 11 definites for Morecambe and 7 for Kidderminster, but we need 20 for each trip to ensure they run.

I appreciate it's hard for people to commit so early, but we could do with a few of the "maybes" and "probables" to become definites.

Thanks.

There are currently 14 definites for Kidderminster.

If we're to run the trip, we need another 6 people to make definite bookings by Wednesday. We've set the deadline so early to give people a fighting chance of makin alternative arrangements if we can't run the trip.

The price currently stands at £17 for members, £20 for non-members, but both prices will fall as more people book their places.

I've extended the deadline for Kidderminster bookings to the weekend, because of last night's postponement.

IF everyone who's booked is able to make it, we should just be about able to run the Kidderminster trip.

However, it's really important that a couple of provisional bookings are confirmed (you know who you are!), and that anyone who needs to drop out lets me know asap.

thanks

Frank

It's looking very likely that we'll be running the trip to Kidderminster but I'll confirm it by email/pm this morning with everyone who's booked.
