Just out of interest, who's coming along? Hope the support won't be down due to the England match!

I'll be there. Arriving 11.58 in Northfleet. Will miss the England game in favour of watching the highlights with a few cans at home on the night.

I'll be there on Saturday, bringing a few natives with me to swell the City support should a number of our supporters prefer England to City. Plan to watch the England match in the pub on the corner afterwards

I'll be travelling down by train, with the York Mysterymen. Hopefully we'll be able to catch the England game in a pub somewhere.

And if anyone happens to be passing through Kew Gardens could you offer me a lift? I'm rather broke at the moment....but yeah would definately be up for a bit of City Action!! Been missing out so far!

We'll be taking a variety of trains down,so most can take advantage of the £19 cheapies.08:03 for most of us mind, back on the 19:15.However,we'll be missing the "happy hour"in the pub we went in last year, where we turned up at 12 and the landlord said "you're early" to which the reply was "no,we're late!" Laughing

A bit of "power drinking" will be required for the hour or so we get prior to kick off,but I'm sure we'll make up for any lost time afterwards watching the England game, wherever that maybe.

Oh and I hope there's a toilet working on the way back from Graveyard and Busfleet to London Bridge, unlike last year when there was very nearly an "accident" or two.I've never seen so many blokes running down a platform to find the bogs!

I am also on the 8.03am which arrives into KX at 10.29.

I just wonder if it won't be quicker to get the Northern Line down to Charing Cross and catch the 11.02 to get to Northfleet at 11.55.

Because the London Bridge way lands you in at 12.25.

To get to Charing Cross via tube you need to go Northern Line from Euston, or Victoria line to Leicester Sq then Northern line.

London Bridge is direct from KX via the Northern Line.

It's the same train you catch anyway,it goes from Charing Cross to London Bridge.I'd go via London Bridge.

From Euston?

Why? Charing Cross is straight down from KX!

Casey Jones is correct.

It's direct to London Bridge on the Northern Line, or if you prefer to avoid tubes get Thameslink.

Charing Cross is not on the same line as King's Cross, it would be a long way round. I was born in London so you can trust me on that, Phil Wink

By the way if you have a ticket that only takes you to London you will find it cheaper to get a ticket from King's Cross Thameslink rather than mess about with tube tickets. And finally, some don't stop at Northfleet in which case get off at Gravesend and go back one stop to save time.

Charing Cross is on the Northern Line, Kings Cross is on the Northern Line so they are on the same line. I'm sure a 10 second walk across the platform at Euston won't take as long as the wait for Thameslink.

To be honest I couldn't give a toss as long as I am there for kick off.

Seeing as you were born in London and therefore think you know everything about the place, can you tell me a good Ukrainian bar where I can watch Ukraine v Albania at 5 o'clock?

Maybe the Northern Line only goes one way so you have to go all the way around the circle until you get back to Charing Cross
Confused

I don't, I was only trying to avoid you taking a long detour. Wink Anyway you could try one of these. (choose King's Cross, or wherever you want to be, from the drop down menu, it says if they have Sky and has 'phone numbers so you could ask them in advance to save going round lots of places).

Thanks for your help.

I have found a popular Russian bar not far from Old Street Station which, should I go by your recommended route, we will be passing through on the way home.

It's called, appropriately, "Nu, Pogodi!".

Yes actually Rolling Eyes

But I don't pay attention to which way everything goes. I just pre-plan the quickest route and go it.

So

You're the first person I've ever known who travels on the underground with his eyes closed thus gaining no knowledge whatsoever of the transport system on which he is travelling.

Congratulations, that's quite an achievement.

Pleasure, well I don't need to keep a full map in my head just for the sakes of trying to get one over on someone, I only need to go from where I am going to where I am going, which has never been Charing Cross, the stops in between are irrelevant.

Anyway I'll stop before you try to map out the whole tube system from memory.

This was a better achievement Laughing

He managed to get lost but make it for kick-off, while Mouse & Richard looked for him and missed kick-off!

Proving I DO know my way around the tube.

Whereas Mosue and Richard somehow missed the HUGE sign saying lines from Bank are CLOSED!

Laughing

Rich still hasn't forgiven me!

They knew where I was BEFORE they did that. (Mouses fault for leaving his phone at home and Laurence for gonig into an area with no signal just after I had rung him to tell him I was lost!)
