Okay - I know I am getting ahead of myself, but first bus is filled for Accrington away
Local Football team Acomb Celtic have filled a 17 seater minibus ready for the jaunt over the pennines.
Come on lads challenge to all the minstermen branches - we throw the gauntlet down for each of you to get a minibus for this one - it could be one hell of a day out. Meet up somewhere have a pint and roll into town for the 3 points.
I know this is a tall order - but we should all enjoy our new found form, and it would be great to have a game we can all put in the memory bank for years to come, and this one is only 80 miles away so lets have a go at pulling some serious support for the lads with plenty of colour and noise.

I think it's a poor effort from the tight b*****d clan if we don't take the same sort of figure we did to Halifax. And, if we are still in the top 4 come the end of the month, then there's no reason why it can't be a couple of hundred or so more...
But, as i said, there are a lot of tight ba****ds out there.

And people with jobs, but as you seem quite young you still have the beauty of working overtime to come!
Anyway, to the crux of the issue raised here and the challenge thrown down, the York Minstermen are taking bookings for a coach to the Accrington game and, as I hope Frank will confirm, numbers are looking promising for this trip to be a runner.
It would be great to take 1,000 fans to Accrington, it's not that far and proper crap non-league so we can flood the place and intimidate them with noisy away support so that their team collapses and we win easily.
Well, that's the idea I suppose.

Who's going to be our Pub Entertainment officer - Anyone know where the pubs are that we can fill prior to the game, on our way over the pennines.

Red and Blue FC and Jorvik Reds will be taking a mini bus full over as well, so that's around another 15/16.
There's going to be quite a lot of people there, would be great to have 1000, but that might be pushing it a bit.
I think we'll take about 700. |

No. You've got me wrong there. Of course people work, and of course they can't always get out of it "because York City are playing".
But there are plenty of fans that won't be working on that Saturday, who won't go. It't not exactly an expensive trip. That is my point. Depending on your mode of transport, and whether you have dinner and a few pints there, you could still do the day for less than £50.

Last time we saw him he was being taken away in an ambulance, the shock thought at having to play again had pushed him over the edge.

We already have around 20 definite bookings, so the York Minstermen coach will certainly run.
Another 15 bookings will push the price per person down to £9.

The Crown , the whole of 30 seconds walk from the ground , was a popular choice with City fans last year , would expect many will be visiting again at the end of the month . Although I'm sure someone mentioned some free fodder at an establishment further down the road....

Yeah there was - free Lancashire Hotpot and decent beer too. Can't remember the name of the pub though.
Myself and Angus have persuaded a lad we know who usually goes to see Leeds and who went to watch City yesterday on a freebie, that he should make the trip to Accy. He said he would after being impressed by the a/ match b/ the banter between the City fans c/ the game of 'Killer' between 10 fans and d/ the piss-up afterwards.

NO it isn't, but you might know/recognise him. Get yourself on the York Minstermen coach trip with the masses.

I really can't wait for this one I'm hoping we can take a good 700/800 to this one. Also I hope some more people go with the YMM then the price will go down.

24 booked so far, so the next person who books will trigger a £2 drop in the price.

Whats the best way to Accrington - Looked on the map and you can perm any one from 5 routes in. We could do with a pub going over - anyone stop at one last season.

How many does Accy's away end hold?
What's the chance that it's all ticket?
The shortest way to Accy would be the A59, but the quickest would probably be M62 http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch/inc/planner_main_redirect.jsp

Lets hope that is right and we get a section behind the goal as we didnt last year. All the Accy fans swapped ends at half time so they were behind the right goal each half.
Wonder if ginger will be there again hehehehe |
