I'm hanging my mod boots up on YY's.

YY's isn't worth me reading anymore, I only read it to fore fill my job as mod rather than enjoying it. Some of you lot could do with a bit of responsibility and I'm getting too old to be part of your group now.

I'd like to think I've done an alright job and learned from the mistakes I made early on.

Thanks for the experience and good luck.

I'd say you were the best mod on here, no offence to any of the other ones, when needed you weren't afraid to lock every single topic on the page, turned it around somewhat but it will never get back to how it used to be.

You applying for forum admin?

I think YYs is clearly on the verge of closing down, if we have no mods this forum is going to be a circus, and poor Mike can't handle it on his own.
I think we need Yorkshire Red to control this forum.

Yorkshire Red has better things to do than sorted you out all the time, Mike has bene doing it for a while. I think I should be given the job back Wink That would sort this place out!

I can't see any need for YY's to close down, your always going to get members leaving on whatever forum. And as it happens Mouse is hardly a "young yorkie" anymore. If we post sensibely then maybe a few new members will come or some of the old ones will come back.

I can't see why Mike can't handle it on his own, it's not like there's loads of activity and he's a good mod so why not?

Me leaving for 3 months didnt change the place, there was no acitivity or new members, the place was dead and boring.
I think LA Met should get the job back providing he doesnt bicker. However i think the moderator should be over 18 with exception to Mike of course because he is very very mature and good.

Isn't that the main problem, a Young Yorkies group, however the person needs to be over 18, which over 18 would actually seriously be still interested in THIS modding job?

Don't worry about the bickering, I've had the stern word from Mouse Wink

Giving Rob Amos the moderation job is like giving Chris Brass a managerial job. Laughing

I think a lot of members get scared off because whenever they post something they often get slated straight away.

I've had it before too!

To be honest we probably do need to be a bit nicer to the new members. Just we want random people on, not people whjo have been invited by friends on here, it never works.

Anyhow, I remember the days of adam_davy etc...the good days of YY!

CORRECTION

Helen jsut reminded me it was her who locked all the page (althoughh some claims it was her brother) Another excellent YY mod who will be missed. Mouse was excellent alongside that and locked threads before they got out of hand too much, always did his job proeprly.

I am sorry to hear about that Mouse, however I understand why you are packing it, you have done many good things for YY, its just a shame that people don't realise and don't respect you for it.

Personally I will stay on as a Mod and try do the best job I can which under the circumstances will probably be very difficult.

But you have still got me, and like I say I will try my best, and of course a little co operation from all you lot wouldn't go amiss.

No we don't need a new mod, and why do you keep saying you are going and then posting later on in the same thread! You are still young, 18 is hardly old. Personally I'd rather you stayed on YY and just think before you post because you often post good stuff when you put a bit of thought into it.

Mike could do with a hand, it is hard enough as it is but with him out so often it will be extremely hard for him, especially if he can get a second job as a swimming teacher or the like.

Anyone want to see me make a return as mod Wink

It's quite embarrasing really that people are calling out for more moderators, we shouldn't need them as we shouldn't post sh*t in the first place! If people think before they post we won't need one!

Quite a few sucessful forums have this type of policy, where the Mods only get involved if something awful is said.

But this also might give free-reign to LW to post whatever he wants, when he wants. Some might say he already does this.

Thinking of one in particular Josh? Got the best mod in the world on that forum Wink

And I think people should just ignore a poster that gets to them, it is unfair to keep singling him out as there are many posters that annoy me a lot more than he does.

Although the poster who annoys you more than LW, might not annoy many other people. So this would be your own opinion.

Do you ignore this poster(s) as you said in your post before?

YY will prosper again. I hope.

However if certain people didn't hammer the hell out of it every minute of the day it might have a chance.

I am genuinely disappointed that Mouse has left, as he did what he could for YY and he did it well.

However I do think that another YY mod should be put in place alongside me to help. I can't watch this thing all day on my own.

How or who would decide who could gain mod status on YY? Surely this would cause arguements?

I have one person in mind who I think could be up to the job, I'll keep that under wraps though.

I have a feeling who that could be, but i'll keep it to myself.

I also think that a select few also could do a great job at moderating.

It's clear that whoever is managing LW, or if he is managing himself, he's been given a free role on this forum.

He constantly attacks, but without too much success, but is also keen to defend if another player tries to attack him. This defensive style that he uses, contrastable to that of the 'catenaccio' style is often highly effective in gaining sympathy for himself, but defending too deeply like this(as is often seen by his use of emotional words) can cause more trouble for himslef on the forum.

As Winston differs between defence and attack, depending on the opponent(A fixture against a prolific poster like Noddyinnapa will see him defend), he constantly confuses other opponents, and lulls them into a false sense of security. Over the past few days, Winston has attacked aggressively, and defended vigorously, throwing many words behind his posts in order to try and stifle his opponent posters.

However, his defending over the past few days has been criticised by the mass media as being unorganised, and leaving no space for him to counter-attack. Against many opposition, he has often found himself backed into a corner, trying desperately to defend, but without success. LA Metros' trouncing of Winston in yesterday's evening kick off was just a recent example of Winston's nieve tactics.

With time ticking on Winston's future on this fourm, many people eagerly await his next tactical move.....
