So then, not much going on in YY recently, since everyone got banned. Looks like we will have to talk about football for a change.

Here goes...

Who do you think has made the best signings over the summer in England?

Name any team you can in any division like.

I personally think Tottenham have made the best individual signing, in Edgar Davids. He's a legend and will be awesome in the Prem.

Edgar Davids is still a fantastic player, regardless of what Inter Milan think, still a class force. Good signing by Martin Jol, especially with Sporting Director Frank Arnesen having left to go to Chelsea.

I think Liverpool have made a few good signings, such as Reina, Sissoko and Crouch. With Gerrard deciding to stay, and Cisse full recovered, they should do much better in the Premiership next season.

I hope someone signs Michael Owen and gets him back playing in the Premiership, I would like to see him back over here.

Tottenham have made many additons to their squad, however, many of them are not 'top-class' players. Routledge,Tainio are good young players with good ability. However, Edgar Davids is nowhere near the player he once was. If Tottenham are contributing to his enormous, undeserved wage budget, then Inter have done well. Davids got left behind in Serie A last season, although to be fair, he was competing with the likes of Stankovic for the Central Midfield role.

I think Liverpool have made probably the best signings this summer. Reina is a very good GK, and Sissoko and Zenden should really bolster what was a weak-looking midfield last season. Crouch/Cisse and Mori is a very good strikeforce, and if Benitez gets his tactics right, Liverpool could aim for a top 3 finish this season.

Don't know much about any goings on in any of the huigher leagues, although I do think Davids is an excellent signing.

OK, the signings to watch out for this season from the foreign countries, including the great buys, and the mistakes!

Aliaksander Hleb(Arsenal)

New boy from Stuttgart. Maybe not the ideal signing to replace Patrick Vieira, but a good signing none the less from Mr Wenger. Although Belorussian's aren't reknowned for their footballing skills, this boy has talent. He came through the Stuttgart youth setup, and has been with the club for over 5 years. He doesn't score as many goals as some would like to say he's an attacking midfield player, but he is deadly from set-pieces. Expect a lot more creativity from Arsenal now they have Hleb, who helped guide Stuttgart to a Champions League place in 2004.

Last season, Hleb scored 2 goals, but got a fantastic 12 assists in only 34 games, in a side that scored very few goals.

Buy rating: Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Jared Borgetti(Bolton

Bolton added more firepower to their ever-growing list of talent this season with Mexican star Jared Borgetti. Mexican players are usually very underestimated over here, and Jared should prove a lot of critics wrong this season. He averages a goal every other game for the Mexican side(who are ranked in the top 5 in the world), and was fantastic in the Confederations Cup.

A very good buy for a small price of £1.5m from Pachuca.

Buy Rating: Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hidetoshi Nakata(Bolton)

Again, Big Sam has brought in another fantastic player. It shocked me to think that Nakata would come to a small club like Bolton, but congrats to Mr Allardyce on this one. Nakata has already had a fantastic career, playing for AS Roma where he was a Scudetto winner, Parma and Fiorentina. He's Japan's favourite footballing son, and completed a transfer record when he moved to Parma for over £20m in 2001. He will provide a lot more creativity for Bolton this season, and should also bang in a few goals along the way.

However,Nakata failed to score any goals for Fiorentina last season, despite his flair and attacking prowess.

Buy Rating: Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Per Kroldrup(Everton)

Per proved to be a great success at Udinese last season, being an integral part of Udinese's passage into the Champions League. He was rock solid all season, and has been capped over 5 times for Denmark. However, why Moyes needed to buy another defender judging by last seasons performances is beyond me, and I think he will have to be at his best to replace Alan Stubbs.

Buy Rating: Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Pepe Reina(Liverpool)

A very accomplished GK, Reina was fantastic for Villarreal last season, and he'll be sorely missed last season. He is very confident, and makes few mistakes, which is something Liverpool have lacked over the last few years. He moved to Villarreal from Barcelona at the beginning of last season for a small fee of £500,000. He could become worth a lot more than that if he proves a success for Liverpool.

Buy Rating: Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Park-Ji Sung(Manchester United)

Korean star Park should become an instant success at Manchester United this season. He helped guide PSV to a semi-final place in the Champions LEague last season, and his creativeness and awareness will be integral to the success of Manchester United this season. He scored 7 goals last season from midfield, and got many more assists. He and Ronaldo shoulsd combine well together for United this season.

Buy Rating: Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Emmanuel Pogatetz(Middlesbrough)

Although I would love to defend him, as he's Austrian, this could turn out to be one of the worst buys of the season. Pogatetz will be unavailable for 6 months as he is currently serving a 6-month ban for a disgraceful tackle while on-loan in Russia last season. When he does come back, he is nothing special to a club like Middlesbrough. He can play LB or CB, but I cannot see him dislodigng Quedrue's place in the team.

Buy Rating: Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Belezoglu Emre(Newcastle)

Emre should become an instant hit at Newcastle. The Turkish international can play anywhere across the midfield, and was highly creative and successful for Inter Milan last season. Souness brought him in quite cheaply, and he should do very well this season for Newcastle, and provide good ammunition in attack.

Emre is also a very aggressive player, which is something Newcastle need in their team.

Buy Rating: Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Yossi Benayoun(West Ham)

For a club like West Ham, this is my buy-of-the-season. Benayoun is an estbalished Israeli international, and was vital in Espanyol's successful season in Spain last year. He is a fantastic playmaker, and scored a hat-trick against Deportivo from midfield last season. He should adapt to the Premiership immediately, and Dobbo should get his name on the back of his shirt ASAP!

Selected Premiership Transfers 05/06 from English Clubs

Kevin Phillips – Villa, Kevin should be a good signing for the Villans. Even though he is coming towards the end of his career I still think he has a lot to offer. He has said he wasn’t that happy at Southampton and if O’Leary can get him right and get a good partnership going with Angel that could be the difference between Europe and a mediocre mid table finish.
Aaron Hughes – Villa, O’Leary has often complained about having a small squad and having to play inexperienced youngsters in vital Premiership classes, in Aaron Hughes he has a player who can play anywhere across the back and even in Midfield if needed. He’s not a top class player but will give them a bit more depth, which they needed desperately.
Patrick Berger – Villa, Looks like Aston Villa are trying to get some Premiership experience into the side this year in Berger and Phillips. Berger has had a great couple of seasons at Pompey and has managed to get a better move for him even at his age. I think he could be a good player for a year of too and hopefully he can teach some of his tricks to the next Villa generation coming through the ranks.
Jermaine Pennant – Brum, Even after all his troubles he showed great bouncebackability at the back end of last season on loan at Brum. He managed to get himself a permanent move and Steve Bruce will be looking to settle down the player that promised so much at just 15 but obviously Wenger never managed to get the talent out of him. He has been lively in pre season and I think he could play a vital part in a year that could be promosing for the Blues.
Mikkel Forssell – Brum, good signing. Birmingham missed his goals last year and him and Heskey could form a good partnership if they stay fit or maybe even play in a three some with Walter Pandiani.
Nicky Butt – Brum, Butt has been on the decline for a couple of years but maybe old team mate Steve Bruce will be able to get the best out of the player who was one of the great performers of the 2002 world cup. Potentially a good loan signing but it’s all down to Butt…
Shefki Kuqi – Blackburn, did well in the Championship last year. Will be interesting to see how he copes facing the likes of Terry and Ferdinand instead of whats his name and thingymajig.
Craig Bellamy – Blackburn, a b*****d going to a b*****d club. Don’t know what old Sparky his trying to do signing all these bad boys. Still, he is a half decent player so who knows?!?!
Ian Walker – Bolton, odd signing, expect he’s on a big wage and they already have a good keeper. Strange.
Darren Bent – Charlton, electric pre season. Can’t wait to see him play.
Shaun Wright-Phillips – Chelsea, a lot of money spent on the lad. Hope he lives up to his price tag!
Phil Neville – Everton, finally going away from Old Trafford and brother Gary. Think he is an excellent signing. 52 caps for Engerland and great club experience. 3 million, bargain!
Darius Vassell – Man City, lost his touch at Villa, Man City need a goal scorer. They potentially have two in Darius and Cole but they will need to work hard.
Edwin Van Der Sar – Manchester United, finally a worthy goal keeper for Man U! Can’t see him making too many mistakes and we all know how good he is.
Aiyegbeni Yakubu – Middlesborough, good move for all I think. He wanted to go, Pompey needed the money and Boro were looking to strengthen. Think Boro could score a lot of goals this year if Downing supplies them to Yakubu, Jimmy and Viduka. Shame they lost out on Zenden though.
Scott Parker – Newcastle, could be a mistake not choosing Spurs or Everton as I think Newcastle will struggle this year. Hope he plays back to his best though like he was doing at Charlton.
Laurent Robert – Pompey, very good signing if the gaffer can keep him happy. Big if though…
Tommy Miller – Sunderland, I think this could be one of the signings of the Summer. Was incredible for Ipswich last year and if he can keep that form going he could keep the Black Cats up!
Clive Clarke – West Ham, I know a Stoke fan who says everyone hated him and he was sh*t and all he did was shout. Be interesting to see how he gets on.
Henri Camara – Wigan, personally I think he should have stayed at Wolves as I think they will go up but he’s chosen Wigan and will have to fight for his place with Ellington and Roberts.

John Ruddy: Everton from Cambridge

Cracking Keeper with lots of talent, I think will get a shout at Everton and will do well

Reina- Liverpool from Villareal

Quality keeper, now Dudek is injured he has to do well or there will have to rely on Carson!!!

Yakubu!!!! Middlesborough from Portsmouth

Great signing, proven goal scoring record and may fire Middlesborough to the UEFA Cup.

By Far the best summer signing is
Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta (born March 26, 1982 in San Sebastian, Spain) is a football (soccer) player. He is an attacking midfield player, currently playing for English Premiership club Everton

He previously played for the FC Barcelona B squad, and had a loan spell with Paris Saint-Germain. He joined Scottish club Rangers in 2002 for £6m where he remained for two seasons, winning the 2003 Scottish Premier League title aswell as the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup.

He joined Real Sociedad in 2004, but failed to establish himself in the team and was loaned out to Everton in the 2005 January transfer window.

He played a vital part of helping Everton reach Champions League qualification and after the departure of Thomas Gravesen, Arteta filled the gap left by the Danish midfielder. On 15 July 2005 was signed permanently by Everton for a fee of £2m.

Arteta is also a former Spanish U21 player but has yet to play for the A team.

Not really been any exciting signings this season, actualy the transfer market looks rather dull. All this talk of Michael Owen is bollox, he won't go to Man Utd or Newcastle because he is thick and doesn't realise that Real Madrid are a s*** club Evil or Very Mad
