Of the last 6 threads, 4 have been locked.

This isn't good. I have just locked 1 for arguing between dave helsdon and tommihird and it is always the same culprits that kick off at 1 another.

If someone says something you don't like, respond in a mature and adult way or don't even bother. One problem YY has always had is pointless arguing.

I must admit that in pre season YY isn't much good, but some threads really shouldn't be ruined, i.e the caption comp thread, I thought that was a good thread, but no, on comes certain posters and it is ruined.

It won't have escaped your notice that dave helsdon is the cause of a lot of problems, and as a result, the vast majority dislike him. However dave, even thought you might not think it, does mean well, he says he wants to fit in with YY's and to be fair he does try with his threads, even if they do turn out to be total crap.

Like I said, arguing (along with bullying) has always been a major problem in YY, and with lots of threads having to be locked because of it, I feel it should be brought to the attention of everyone once again.

Try to indulge in sensible conversation, not shouting at each other, and perhaps us mods won't have to end up locking almost every thread.

Cheers.

Most of the time, I do try and solve arguments in a sensible way within the realms of YY's. However, people like Dave Helsdon, from who I have seen no attempt from him to try and harmonise with the rest of the YY's piss me off so much, that I can sometimes not control my temper.

It appears the teenage brain cannot deal with it in the same way Wink

No, it because Helsdon is very immature and then leaves himself open to the arguementative side of Hird who can't resist as Helsdon is an easy target who people don't like so he won't get insulted back unlike UkPh*l.

I agree it is meaningless, although mods need to take the harder line against it, Woody Wilson summed up the caption comp reply perfectly and any thread, such as the last CD one shold never have started, read the top.

I think we are going to have to look at the Young Yorkies thread again and DELETE posts rather than lock to try and keep it on topic and DELETE topics if they are pointless/rubbish ie Last CD.

Good post btw Mike.

I don't care about your petty squabbles. Grow up.

You turned a sensible, well-thought out thread into exactly what it was asking you to avoid. Yes, I don't like what he posts, but by bickering the forum will only be plunged into further depths.

Rise above it.

Well said Helen.

It was encouraging to see how some posters responded positively at the top of this thread, however Dobbo, I expected better of you my friend.

Like Helen said, this thread wasn't put here for you to squabble pointlessly with helsdon. Nobody else on this thread has argued once, and had you not provoked helsdon into a response neither would he.

Robert, you are one of the older YY, act like one, and perhaps the others will react in a positive way, rather than arguing.

Are you having a laugh? Just because "I aren't" is acceptable in Yorkshire, does not mean that it is acceptable in the civilised world.

I suppose it should have been "I'm not" should it?
