Supporters group the Jorvik Reds are pleased to announce a new fundraising initiative in partnership with the company ‘Txt Aid’.

For this partnership to be a success, we do, however, require the help of every City fan out there.

Who is ‘Txt Aid?’

‘Txt’ Aid’ is a recently formed company that aims to raise money for charities, football trust’s, supporters groups, and other non-profit organisations.

The Way It Works:

We need people, literally anyone with a mobile phone, to sign up to this scheme via the link displayed at the bottom of this post.
IT WILL COST YOU NOTHING TO SIGN UP AND NOTHING TO RECEIVE THE MESSAGES.

Once you have signed up, we, the Jorvik Reds, will receive 10 pence for every person who signs up.

When you sign up, you agree to receive between 2 and 3 promotional messages, all approved by the Advertising Standards Agency, per week (this will cost you nothing at all) and we will also then receive 10 pence each for every message that is sent to you.

All the messages will be specifically targeted for you, as when you sign up you complete a very short questionnaire which enables ‘Txt Aid’ to send only relevant messages to you. (If you do sign up, it would be helpful if you were to tick every box even if that area doesn't interest you, it just means they will send you more messages, and make us more money Wink , and really, it only takes 2 seconds to delete a text)

Important Information:

This scheme costs you nothing to sign up to, nothing to opt out at anytime you wish, and nothing to receive the messages – it is a win-win situation for all of us!!

The information you provide ‘Txt Aid’ with is fully protected by the Data Protection Act and so, by law, cannot be passed on to anyone. This guarantee’s that you will NOT receive Spam of any kind.

It costs us, and you, no money whatsoever, and all it requires is a quick 5 minute sign-up.

Why does ‘Txt Aid’ do this?

‘Txt Aid’ makes their money from the advertiser, and NOT the consumer. This is why it costs you nothing to sign up, and why we receive 100% of the money as a group.

PLEASE SIGN UP!!!

As I have stressed, this doesn’t cost you a penny to sign up to, and won’t cost you a penny ever, even if you decided to opt out at anytime you wish.
Please support this new fundraising initiative and follow the link displayed below:

http://www.txtaid.org.uk/jorvikreds

THERE ARE NO CATCHES:

You will never have to pay any money, never receive messages other than from txt aid - and never have your information sold on to anyone.
I have a legal contract stating this signed by both the company and myself. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it is - so please sign up.

YOU DO NOT RECEIVE SPAM OF ANY KIND - YOU WILL RECEIVE AROUND 3 TEXT MESSAGES PER WEEK - NO E-MAILS - AND THE MESSAGES ARE SPECIFICALLY TARGETTED AT YOU AS YOU COMPLETE A QUESTIONNAIRE.

Do all you can to help:

Pass this on to family, friends, work colleagues and get as many people to sign up to the scheme as possible.
Please e-mail me at: and i will send you an email with a piece of text that describes everything to do with the scheme, and includes a link to the website, which you can then send out to all of the e-mail addresses you have!

For any more information, please post any questions you might have on this thread, or email me:

Thank you, B.Fellows, on behalf of the Jorvik Reds.

So basically the Jorvik Reds get paid everytime we sign up for and recieve hundreds of spam emails?

I'll consider it when I leave school to be on the safe side.

What's that got to do with anything Rob? Are you not allowed to receive text messages when you're below 16 in Leeds?

I have my phone on 24/7, I would much rather not have it confiscated in school as it vibrates every 10 minutes with incoming spam texts. Also I don't want to turn it on and see, "23 messages recieved" and go through them all trying to find which ones are important and which are spam.

No Rob - read the thread!!

You receive TEXT MESSAGES and they are NOT SPAM. They are targetted adverts at yourself - you complete a questionnaire to make sure you only receive relevent txts.

You will receive ONE e-mail thanking you for signing up - that is all!!!

So basically I do the questionaire and tick football stuff or the like then get stupid amounts of texts asking me to buy certain stuff. The only reason it is not SPAM is because you have signed up saying that you want texts advertising something send to your phone every 10 minutes. Having said that, I will still do it, although when I have left school.

PS: Is there any way of signing off the thing whe nyou are on if the texts do get uncontrollable?

They will not spam you - i have a legal conract with them saying this. If they were to do so, i will sue them.

They won't - as they are a CHARITY fundraiser.

Just been told it is 2-3 messages per week, my misunderstanding, I will be signing up then, I thought it was a ridiculous number per day.

So......SIGN UP TO TXT AID AND HELP JORVIK REDS

I would urge everyone to try it, if you are unhappy for any reason you can cancel at any time, what's there to lose???

Just to reassure people, cancelling is as simple as logging in, clicking “log in details” and checking a box. That easy, don’t be shy give it a try.

Nice one!!

And remember everyone - when you complete the questionnaire it helps if you tick every box - just we will get more money that way!!

Try and spread the word to everyone you know, e-mail me, msn etc. If you want one to forward to your mates without having to tpye it all up.

Don't worry I don't expect a text for a while (about a week) they start you off slowly.

Yeah, thanks for the phone call at 8:45 this morning, only 3 hours after you'd finished texting me. Seriously, what were we doing up at 5am?

I asked him the same question earlier - some people moaning about getting up - such slackers eh? Wink

I know, tell me about it. Being paid to sleep and play old school Grand Theft Auto for 2 months is awesome, can't beat it.

He rang me going 'vaaaarrrrrrrt' at like 4:30am. That deserves a 'Cheeky Mouse' if nothing else.

No text messages will be sent out to anyone until we have 250 sign ups or more, so please get as many people to sign up as possible!
We currently have 30 people signed up, so have a long way to go.

It can be confirmed that 50% of the money raised will be going on sponsoring a player's boots/kit, depending on the amount of money we raise.

So you are helping to support the club when you sign up to this scheme, as 50% of the money will be going to the club in the form of sponsoring a player.

Thats what I get a week for my apprenticeship, you can just about manage on that provided you don't go spend it all the day you get it.

Most of my 100 quid goes when Lucy takes me shopping. Very Happy
