I thought the egg chasers amongst you might like a read of this:

The Barrow Evening Mail wrote:

THIS IS OUR FINAL

PETER Roe is treating tomorrow’s clash at York City Knights as the Raiders’ Grand Final.

Barrow are four points clear at the top of National League Two with a game in hand over nearest rivals Sheffield and favourites for automatic promotion.

That would see the Raiders avoid the league’s showcase Grand Finals at the end of the season.

Coach Roe said: “The atmosphere I am trying to create is that while automatic promotion is what everyone is aiming for, there is also a special occasion at the end of the season when there’s a Grand Final.

“The question is whether we prefer automatic promotion or a Grand Final.

“Well all the players and myself have bought into the fact that we want automatic promotion and if we want a Grand Final then we can use tomorrow as our own.

“That way we can have the best of both worlds and that’s how I’m trying to build the game up.”

Pre-season favourites York — the only team to beat Barrow this season — have brought in three new players from Hull KR this week in exchange for Damian Ball.

Can't see anything other than a Barrow win tomorrow i'm afraid! Sad

Don't know, a few new faces and the first home match for well over a month so a win is possible, should be an interesting game of Rugby with Barrow doing so well, but York won there so we know we can do it although beating Barrow isn't easy, really looking forward to it should be one of the best games of the season if the knights are up for it.

It's nice to see that Agar has been quick to sort things out, getting rid of the assistant manager is a pretty big statement! I just think the Barrow game has come too early for a revival. Fingers crossed though, its certainly a funny old game! Come on you Knights! Cool

Knights 30 Barrow 16

Easy win over the league leaders, plenty of cheer for the supporters who have had a miserable time recently.

Well done lads!

Great performance from the knights although Barrow really didn't shape up like league leaders at all, lacked discipline and knocked on far too much but a great performance from York.

Identical to the away score in May! Pity I couldn't make it as my only friend who's into league was too skint to go.

Top banana! Didn't make the match, but it sounded like the new lads from Hull KR did well? Good attendence aswell, many there from Barrow?

Decent following from Barrow, attendace was around 1,300 I think. Two tries from new lads, Andrew's caught a high kick and scored in the corner Farrell finished a passing move onto the wing and ran into the corner they look like good signings and we certainly didn't miss Graham at full back.
