That's where all the proud York people sing to the enemies within....

the supposed Leeds ‘fans’ never actually go to Elland Road - just bought a leeds season ticket, 408 quid.
Who do you think you are walking down Coney Street in a Leeds shirt? - a leeds fan maybe.
Thanks for that, i never check the useless thing though

I thought that was the case as well.
As for the rest of this thread I would have to agree with UKPhil on this one - I would question also how many of the York - based Leeds fans are actually regulars at Elland Road anyway, the Leeds fan on this thread is possibly the exception rather than the rule.

At a rough estimate, we have a hard core support of 2,500 (you could argue 3,000) topped up by floating supporters and away fans to an average last season of 3,900.
Of course there are a number of people who support City who don't go as often as they used to and who only go for big games. That is true of any club - and Leeds is a good example of where you get 40,000 for Man United but next season you'll be looking at 25,000 probably less for Gillingham. I wouldn't criticise those York fans because, while they don't go every week, at least they go to watch York and not someone else's team.
The challenge is to make the team good enough to encourage those people to come to BC more often.

leeds had a similiar problem, we have a hardcore following off around 25 to 30 thousand, and then we have people supporting them for the champions league and european runs we had, which saw loads of people becoming supporters for no reason, and now these twits have stopped turning up to games and stuff.

I think I will quite rightly interject at this point....
It wont have escaped any of my fellow City mates or the red and blue netters that I am born, and still living in Leeds. I follow City because I love them to bits, and have no misplaced football snobbery in me, so the fact that York are a low division club matters not one iota to me. I dont follow Leeds because they were premiership, and the premiership is everything that is wrong with football today. As far as jealousy goes, whats there to jealous about ? Leeds are nowt, hence their relegation.
We saved our own club and ground, our players rallied around without being paid. Your so called "players" couldnt be arsed to take a temporary wage cut to keep Leeds alive.
"Golden boy Leeds through and through Alan Smith" showed his true colours, also refused a temporary wage cut and ran off to Man U. No, you can keep your "wonderfull" club with its outrageous gate prices, fickle players and fans........

Leeds is a bad place compared to York - after all you get murders in Leeds sometimes..
