York City player-boss Chris Brass completed the signings of striker Andy Bishop (21) and centre-back Chris Clarke (23) on Friday evening, and has now targeted a further three new recruits in preparation for the new Conference season, which begins at Aldershot on 14th August.
The Minstermen have taken their number of new acquisitions to seven with the confirmed captures of Walsall forward Andy Bishop - on a two-year contract - and former Halifax Town and Blackpool defender Chris Clarke, who has agreed a twelve-month deal.
The York chief is still on the lookout for a new goalkeeper, left-back and striker, particularly if teenage hot-shot Levent Yalcin decides to move elsewhere.
Released Grimsby Town front-runner Jonathan Rowan already appears in pole position to fill one of the vacancies following a lively display against Doncaster Rovers on Friday night.
Meanwhile Brass also took the opportunity to cast an eye over two left-backs during the game, in the shape of Mark Robertson (Hull City) and one-time Newcastle United defender Paul Dunn (Bedlington Terriers).
Ex-Burnley powerhouse Gerry Harrison - who has recently been training with the Minstermen - watched over proceedings from the stands. A rugged, tough-tackling central defender who is equally adept in midfield, Harrison previously played for Sunderland and was on the books of Conference outfit Leigh RMI last season.
