Chester City are set to complete the signing of full-back Darren Edmondson.
The Conference champions have agreed a 12-month deal with the 32-year-old, who was released by York following their relegation from Division Three.
Edmondson made almost 150 appearances for York in a four-year stay at Bootham Crescent.
The former Carlisle defender will become the ninth summer signing for Chester, who are also interested in Bradford midfielder Tom Kearney.
Edmondson has impressed Chester boss Mark Wright since reporting for the start of pre-season training.
